We may like it or not, but in the workplace appearance is of great essence. Even if this is not a qualification, image may speak volumes about your organization’s values, achievements, work ethic, and professionalism. People will decide whether they will like you or not based on overall appearance.
Regardless of the industry, good first impression could turn into increased profits and sales. One good example is in the service industry. Many of the service oriented companies like to hire attractive women with clean face that obviously uses acne treatment to remove blemishes, as their front liners. No one likes to admit it, but that makes a huge difference in their sales.
Of course, this sparks controversies to several countries as this is called discrimination and is legally barred. But, reality checks even if this doesn’t matter in a person’s ability to work, it does make a big difference.
Its human nature to look at appearance. Perception is reality.
