Basic good grooming when attending formal corporate dinner
For the ladies
- Do something about your armpit hair. Shaving leaves the armpit dark while plucking may cause pore enlargement and increases the risk of infection. Hair removal doesn’t get it all out and waxing is painful. Whatever method you prefer select and act.
- Do something with your acne. Should you buy acne spot treatment that heals the acne then go for that. Seeing acne bothers other people and that person might be the big boss.
- Never remove shoes in public
- Keep your hair neat and tidy and keep it out of other’s people’s faces by not brushing it in public.
- Fragrance should be subtle, not overwhelming and sneeze inducing.
For men
- Clip nose and ear hairs
- Snip away loose thread on your suits and pants.
- Polish shoes that needs to be polished, wash shoes that need to be washed
- Keep fingernails short and clean
- Cut toenails straight across
- If you must wear and earring, choose something small and subtle and not the big ones like loops where you can put a circus animal through
- Always check limbs coming out of your suit. Your collar should stay flat under the lappet of your jacket. The cuff of your shirts should peak out of your coat sleeves when your arms hang straight down against your sides.
