another happy customer

customersBy definition, a customer, also client, buyer or purchaser is commonly used to refer to a current or potential buyer or user of the products of an individual or organization. No matter how we weigh things, satisfied customers always boil down to better profits.

Operations management in the service industry is all about creating a good experience for those who need the service. It includes offering the finest service, elevators running smoothly, and a front desk that processes people quickly. It is responsible for locating and providing amenities to make the customers happy.

In short, delighting customers by anticipating their needs become the quality standard for most service businesses. However, there are times that customers need to fall in line despite their hectic schedule. One way to address the problem is to set-up a device that can draw their attention away from the time like a bell tv set perhaps or a radio and even magazine will do. This way, the customers are unlikely to feel pressured about being late or having a lot of things to do. Entertaining them is one way to keep them coming back. This is one good example of operations management.

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the term operations management but I can see where you are coming from this this article. We must keep the customer happy if we expect repeat business. I don’t think we need to go to extremes to keep them. They either like your services or products or they don’t. Being courtesy, friendly and affordable doesn’t hurt either. Thanks for the post!
